The Parents’ Responsibility for Teaching Children in the Digital Age

Abstract

In today's world, technological advancement is increasingly integrated into everyday life. Technological advances, such as computers, smartphones, and tablets, help children grow, develop their capabilities, and improve their learning. The term "Gen Alpha," which describes children born between 2010 and 2024, is the first generation to have been raised entirely in the twenty-first century and is characterised by their digital- native status and worldwide connectivity. Thus, "Gen Alpha" mostly spends their time interacting with digitalization. Since technology is a part of every parent's and child's life, there is worry about how it may harm the cognitive, motor, and social development of very young children. Parents are the most important people who are responsible for creating a child-friendly environment. Thus, the pattern that parents follow with their children meets the design of children's physical and psychological needs. Furthermore, by socializing children to society norms, this pattern can be put into practice and help them coexist peacefully with their surroundings. Parents must teach and guide their children in the responsible and constructive use of digital media.
