Abstract

The rise of TikTok as a dominant social media platform has transformed digital engagement among youth. However, it also presents significant risks, including privacy concerns, exposure to harmful content, cyberbullying, and online predators. This study examines the relationship between TikTok usage and youth’s
vulnerability to digital risks. These frameworks explain how online behaviors are shaped by observation, reinforcement, and perceived risk assessment. The findings highlight the necessity of digital literacy
education, stronger platform regulations, and increased parental involvement to mitigate these risks and afoster a safer online environment.
