This particular journal demonstrates competitive advantages against its counterparts as it emphasises on the use of new technologies with focus on ‘internet of things’ (iOT) in education. The journal’s visibility is amplified by drawing on high quality characteristics, distributed coverage, knowledge coreness and exclusivity of cutting edge issues. This will indirectly lead to indexing in well-recognised scientific data base such as Scopus or ISI which will promote it to a much higher level of quality in time.
en-US jcsi@unimap.edu.my (Prof. Dr. Harshita Aini Haroon) norhanim@unimap.edu.my (Norhanim Hashim) Tue, 30 Jul 2024 04:03:58 +0000 OJS 3.3.0.13 http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss 60 Apraksia terhadap Penghidap Epilepsi melalui Analisis Neuropsikolinguistik https://ejournal.unimap.edu.my/index.php/jcsi/article/view/814

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that affects the human nervous system. It can hinder verbal communication when the patient experiences brain and nervous system disturbances. Epilepsy is also associated with apraxia, a motor speech disorder. This study aims to examine the speech of epilepsy patients during muscle seizures and discusses the aspects of apraxia that occur in these individuals. Additionally, the study analyzes the neuropsycholinguistic aspects of epilepsy patients' first language. The applied theory is Wernicke’s Neurolinguistic Theory (1874). The findings show that epilepsy patients experience apraxia during seizures, with impaired ability to express their first language clearly. Short syllables, dialectal shifts, and omissions of consonants and vowels were common in their speech. Furthermore, seizures impact behavior, causing psychological distress, including embarrassment and fear. This study hopes to open avenues for future research on apraxia in epilepsy patients.
Siti Noridayu Ab. An online survey was distributed with the help of an adapted questionnaire from past studies. A total of 200 cases were considered in this study, and reliability analysis and regression analysis were performed in SPSS version 25. The findings revealed that all variables of attitude, social media influencers, and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) positively and significantly impact behavioral intention. However, the attitude was found to have a more significant impact on the behavior of the youth of Pakistan due to higher beta values than the dependent variables. Therefore, policymakers in the textile industry can consider these variables in the future.
Ikramuddin Junejo, Abeer Memon, Ummi Naiemah Saraih, Zuha Akhund, Mahnoor Shah, Mohd Khairulnizam Zahari Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Communication in Scientific Inquiry (JCSI) https://ejournal.unimap.edu.my/index.php/jcsi/article/view/796 Tue, 30 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Challenges and Opportunities of Cybersecurity Education for Non-technical Majors https://ejournal.unimap.edu.my/index.php/jcsi/article/view/873

Cybersecurity is fast becoming a crucial area of study due to the advancement of digital technology. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, we analyzed the post-editing practices of these students. The texts postedited were authentic Indonesian tourism texts sourced from lonely planet website. The findings revealed machine translation errors in three main areas: lexico-semantic errors, grammatical errors, and syntactic errors. Lexico-semantic errors often involved incorrect word choices and mistranslations of nuanced terms. Grammatical errors were prevalent in the misuse of tense, agreement, and article usage. Syntactic errors included improper sentence structure and word order, leading to awkward or unclear translations. As a result of these errors, it was observed that students did some corrections to polish the machine translated text, from the most dominant type of correction to the least dominant, including correcting lexical choices, correcting word form, correcting word order, omissions, additions and deleting. It is recommended that future studies involve more diverse participants with different text types so as to generate a more comprehensive finding.
Dewi Kesuma Nasution, Bambang Panca Syahputra Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Communication in Scientific Inquiry (JCSI) https://ejournal.unimap.edu.my/index.php/jcsi/article/view/1104 Tue, 30 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0000 A Review of Engineering Leadership Concept: A Way Forward https://ejournal.unimap.edu.my/index.php/jcsi/article/view/1105
Leadership is a critical component in business management, and in some situations, it can be vital to the survival of a company or organization. The concept of leadership has been extensively studied across various disciplines, yet the specific domain of engineering leadership remains underexplored and poorly defined. Every engineering organization, regardless of size, requires leaders and employees to execute projects to ensure their organization's success.
