Abstract

By knowing the issues surrounding time synchronization and the solution provided by IEEE 1588v2, a standard for network-based timing synchronization is introduced. Researchers can solve the barriers to leverage cost-effective IP networks and handle the increased bandwidth anticipated from 3G and 4G services. This paper explores the issues related to the requirements for synchronization and the solution provided by the IEEE standard.
